An Integrated and Collaborative Partnership
The Government of Canada has set a goal of a 40% reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from operations by 2030.
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is responsible for managing operations for many of the buildings that are used to accommodate public sector employees. The modernization of the district energy system in the National Capital Region will make a significant contribution to the achievement of this goal.
The system itself has reduced GHGs by 30% since 2005 and when the modernization is complete the total emissions reduction target will be 63%.
